Gypsy Lee has grown up with music in the veins, her parents are Australian rock royalty Kate Ceberano and director-producer Lee Rogers. “As a kid my parents would play a game where they gave me a random topic, and I would have to make a song about it on the spot, I guess that’s how my songwriting began.”
Gypsy Lee has done a few duets with her mother over the course of her life, but has mostly preferred to stay out of the limelight and write and develop her own songs and sound.
In 2023 she stepped out and performed one of her original songs at the Melbourne Awards at Melbourne Town Hall, which impressed. She sang backing vocals for Kate Ceberano’s ARIA nominated hit ‘My Life Is A Symphony’ album, and the sold out national orchestra tour.
Gypsy Lee’s debut single was released to acclaim in February 2024:
